Lucky guy! I have been searching high and low for a good project 58 biscayne or bel air to build a mild custom cruiser, but man these things had terrible rust issues

His is an Impala. only real rust issue beyond some surface rust is the trunk pan. It’s currently sitting in his barn... it’s his retirement project, he has been retired for 5 years now... He has a 348 w tri power to go on it, and a 4 speed. hasnt touched it. I keep telling him to get started on it so i dont have to do it.

Brings a tear to my eye. I had a 58 Impala that I had to sell during a divorce. Somehow I couldn’t find anyone with enough garage space for me to store it.

I would love a Impala but projects are just too much money for junk. Would love to find a convertible to build a clone of our 56 Chevy customs twin that was built alongside it back in the early 60s
